WELCOME TO THE FIRST SSI REBREATHER COURSE 24.05. – 31.05.2012 in Soma Bay Egypt
Discover a whole new, bubble-free world on the Poseidon Mk6 “Discovery”
The major advantages of closed circuit rebreather diving is bubble- free operation, warm, moist breathing gas, reducing the risk of decompression sickness, a constant PO2 (partial pressure of oxygen) you have a guaranteed best mix regardless of your depth. Add to this the extended no-decompression times, with superior efficient gas consumption, you will realize why more and more divers are seeking rebreather training. During this 4 day programme you will be trained in all aspects of correct operation of your Poseidon Mk6 “Discovery”. This will include 1 confined water session and 5 open water dives during which you will repeat and learn new skills for rebreather operation under the direct supervision of your SSI instructor. On satisfactory completion of training you will be able to dive to a max. depth of 40m when using air as a diluent. Some of the things that you can expect to learn on your course are:
- Unit assembly, set-up and preparation to dive.
- Failure mode management (Bail-out gas procedures)
- Self and Buddy rescue skills
- DSMB deployment
TO NAME BUT A FEW
The Poseidon Mk6 “Discovery” is certainly one of the electronically most advanced units worldwide available at the moment, making it very user-friendly and easy to handle. The unit has onboard PO2 monitoring, a pre-packed 2.8 kg absorbent cartridge, minimalasing the risk of problems with CO2 due to improper packing, 2 x 3l on-board cylinders supplying O2 and Air (as the Diluent) as well as an ADV to automatically adjust the volume of gas in the counterlungs for comfortable breathing.

Orca Dive Club Safaga
Since Febrary 2012 is Birgit new in our team at Orca Safaga. We welcome her!

Orca Dive Club Flores
He’s back on the team!
We would just like to let you all know that after nearly a 2 year break from the family Marc Crane has rejoined the Orca Dive Clubs Team.
Many of you (especially the tekkies) will remember Marc from the Orca Dive Club Safaga, where he spent many years guiding and teaching. He will however not be rejoining the team in the Red Sea, but has now accepted a new challenge developing the Orca Dive Club in Flores Indonesia. Marc’s primary objective currently is to establish the diving centre in our new partner hotel The Jayakarta Suites Komodo Flores which is the ideal gateway for everyone to explore the untamed wilderness which is Komodo with its pristine reefs, amazing abundance of marine biodiversity, and encounters with large fish like sharks, mantas and mola mola. Marc will be responsible for setting up the diving services to the high standards that you have come to expect from any Orca Dive Club worldwide. Furthermore Marc will also be looking at establishing rebreather diving and training facilities in both our Indonesian destinations of Bali and Flores as well as covering the logistical support needs of the Rebreather Pool.
We are all very excited by the new opportunities in these exotic and up and coming destinations and hope you are too?For more information or bookings please visit our website.
